This resolution fixed my problem in one try. I'm running a mixed environment, using 2008 Server (R1, not R2)and Windows 7. I've run into a number of problems based on this, such as having to uninstall the Windows 7 version of WAIK from my server and install the Vista version, in order to be able to properly inject drivers into my images using peimg instead of DISM, which couldn't mount my older images. You've helped me learn that same is true of the boot images. I was using the 2008 Server boot image and it seemed to work fine until I tried to use it with a Windows 7 image.
